The long-awaited duel between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, scheduled for February 17, will wait.
This Friday, the promoter of the fight, Queensberry Promotions, announced the postponement of this clash following an injury to the Englishman.
“Tyson Fury was forced to postpone his fight against Oleksandr Usyk after cutting himself during a training session in Riyadh,” a statement read.
No new dates have been announced.
The English boxer's injury needs to be stitched up, which will not allow him to be ready on February 17.
“I am absolutely devastated after preparing for this fight for so long and being in such great condition,” commented Tyson Fury.
I feel bad for everyone involved in this huge event and will help find a new date when my eye has recovered.

This announcement will undoubtedly disappoint many boxing fans.
Because this fight should allow one of the two men to definitively write his name in the history of the discipline.
The title of undisputed world champion is at stake, a first since 1999 and Lennox Lewis, who beat Evander Holyfield in Las Vegas to defend the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.
Initially, this fight was even supposed to take place on December 23, but the proximity of this date to the clash between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, on October 29, forced the organizers to postpone it for the first time.
Undefeated in his career, the Englishman was badly shaken by the Cameroonian, even if the judges ultimately gave him the victory.
We will therefore have to wait a little longer before seeing the “Gipsy King” in the ring again.
