The TTC Birkland table tennis women celebrated a success at the start of the second half of the season.

The game against DJK Landshut II was – once again – extremely exciting.

– Duels with DJK SB Landshut II have a certain thrill factor for the table tennis players at TTC Birkland this season.

As in the first leg, the Upper Bavarians also had to equalize a deficit in the second leg.

The TTC women managed the task again, winning 6:4 for the second time, this time at home.

After the doubles things looked good.

Because the hosts were 2-0 ahead.

Patricia Weishäupl and Lena Berchtold won their game with 3-0 sets (12:10, 11:76, 11:7).

Karin Stumpfecker and Julia Holz played the full distance of five sets and were still in trouble after leading the set 2-0 (11:7, 11:9, 8:11, 9:11, 11:2). .

Things didn't go as planned in the individual events.

Stumpfecker initially won with 3:1 sets against Isabelle Spanner (11:7, 10:12, 11:7, 11:7), but after that four games went to the guests.

Weishäupl and Berchtold each lost 1:3 sets.

Holz, the hosts' number four, narrowly lost out to Eileen Sahiner 2:3 (9:11, 12:10, 11:8, 2:11, 7:11).

There was also a defeat for Stumpfecker in her second singles: against Katharina Schöner it was over after three sets (13:15, 9:11, 7:11).

Two five-set wins pave the way to overall success

Similar to the first leg,

the Birklanders turned things around in their favor in the finish.

There were two five-set wins, namely by Weishäupl (14:12, 8:11, 11:7, 4:11, 11:2) and Holz (8:11, 11:6, 7:11, 11 :4, 11:6).

Meanwhile, Berchtold prevailed against Sahiner 3:1 (11:7, 11:3, 6:11, 11:2).

In the end, the TTC was only narrowly ahead in the sets (22:20).

With their fifth win of the season, the TTC moved past TSV Herbertshofen in the table and is now in fourth place.

The Upper Bavarians will play their next game on Sunday, February 11th.
