Ski star Aleksander Aamodt Kilde gives insights into rehab after his horror fall.
The Norwegian is still dependent on a wheelchair.
Innsbruck – There were shocking pictures that Aleksander Aamodt Kilde shared on the Internet after his horror fall in Wengen.
The social media platform Instagram even warned: “This photo may contain violence or explicit content.” What can be seen: an extremely deep cut into Kilde’s muscle, down to the bone.
Kilde is still confined to a wheelchair
Three weeks after the fall, the Norwegian is still dependent on a wheelchair for many things - Kilde sometimes had to be pushed by his parents.
Kilde is far from thinking about a comeback time.
At a virtual press conference on Thursday (February 1), the Norwegian said he didn't know whether he would ever be able to reach his top level again.
“The situation surrounding my injury is unclear.
I'm confident that things will be fine again, but the question is how long it will take," explains the 31-year-old.

Kilde doesn't even rule out the end of his career
Even an end to your career is possible.
“It’s too early to say whether I can get back on skis like before and win races again,” Kilde said to himself.
The two operations went well, no further operations are currently planned.
And the doctors' prognosis is also good, but the Norwegian's nerves are involved.
“I’m sitting here and I’m not sure if everything will heal in six months, a year or two,” says Kilde.
At the moment it’s not about “getting back to skiing, but rather getting back to a normal life”.
He is now focusing on “getting back on his feet and walking properly.
After that, I take it day by day."
He gets support from his girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin.

Kilde is working on comeback with girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin
The American herself recently had a serious fall and, like Kilde, is working on her comeback.
The couple spends their rehabilitation together in Innsbruck.
“It’s nice to have her here with me, even though we don’t want to be in this situation at this point in the season,” Kilde said.
Shiffrin didn't have it quite as bad as her partner when she fell in Cortina.
The ski queen could even celebrate her comeback in Soldeu (February 10th) - at Kilde it will take a lot longer.
