Fans of Mercedes, Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton still struggle to believe it.
However, it is very real: the seven-time world champion will join the Scuderia from the 2025 season. On Thursday, it was his Formula 1 team, Mercedes, which announced his departure first, before the Italian team does not reveal his arrival.
This Saturday, the Briton published a long message on his social networks to explain his choice and thank everyone who accompanied him.
“It was a crazy few days, filled with a whole range of emotions,” he said at first.
I feel incredibly lucky, having achieved things with Mercedes that I could only have dreamed of as a child, to now have the chance to realize another childhood dream: driving in red with Ferrari.

Mercedes driver since 2013, Lewis Hamilton assured that he made the “most difficult” decision of his career.
“I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together and am very grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone I have worked with over the years and, of course, Toto (Wolff, the boss of Mercedes), for his friendship, advice and leadership,” he continued.

“I am more motivated than ever”
The Briton then explained his choice, specifying that he wanted to “take on a new challenge”.
“I still remember the feeling of taking a leap into the unknown when I first joined Mercedes in 2013,” he said.
I know some people didn't understand it at the time, but I was right to take the plunge, and that's the feeling I have again today.
I’m excited to see what I can bring to this new opportunity and what we can do together.

Before looking ahead to this 2025 season, however, Lewis Hamilton hopes to have one last good season with the Silver Arrows.
“For the moment, I am not thinking about 2025,” he assured.
I am focusing on the upcoming season and my return to the track with Mercedes.
I'm more motivated than ever, I'm fitter and more focused than ever and I want to help Mercedes win once again.
I am 100% committed to the work I have to do and I am determined to end my partnership with the team on a good note.
