Highlights: “They will bring us added value”: Stéphane Gilli deciphers the three recruits from Paris FC. “Vincent Marchetti resumes next week, we don’t want to take any risks,” continues Gilli, who discusses his expectations for the last three recruits of the week (after goalkeeper Rémy Riou at the start of January) “Nouha Dicko, a profile that we missed” Paris FC surprised by recruiting the Corsican from AC Ajaccio in conflict with Olivier Pantaloni.

The Parisian club (12th) travels to Amiens (5th), this Saturday evening (7:30 p.m.), during the 23rd day of Ligue 2. Coach Stéphane Gilli called

If it ended Thursday evening with the about-face of Metz for the loan of Ibou Sané, the transfer window of Paris FC rather satisfied the coach of the Parisian club, Stéphane Gilli.

“Whether it’s goalkeeper, full-back, midfield or up front, these are players with different profiles from what we have,” he notes.

We are convinced that they will bring us added value and expand this group because we still have a lot of unavailability due to injuries.

In Amiens, Nouha Dicko will be started as a starter and Tuomas Ollila will start on the bench.

“Vincent Marchetti resumes next week, we don’t want to take any risks,” continues Gilli, who discusses his expectations for the last three recruits of the week (after goalkeeper Rémy Riou at the start of January) and explains why the club did not recruit right side.

“Nouha Dicko, a profile that we missed”

A native of Val-de-Marne, the 31-year-old striker returns to the Paris region after having traveled extensively in England (Wigan, Blackpool, Rotherham, Hull City, Wolverhampton), the Netherlands (Vitesse Arnhem), Turkey (Gaziantep , Malatyaspor) and in Greece (OFI Crete).

The Malian international (3 caps) signed for a year and a half.

“In relation to our game project, it’s the player we were missing,” says Stéphane Gilli.

He has a different profile from Hamel, Diaby Fadiga or Jabbari.

He is able to go deep, play with his back to goal and he is intelligent in his ball handling.

This is the profile we were looking for.

We validated it with my staff and we are very happy to have it.

His experience and his experiences will take us a step further.

He has a great state of mind, he left the Paris region very young and he wanted to come back.

»

Although he has scored 76 goals in his career, he nevertheless remains in less prolific seasons in terms of stats.

“That doesn’t matter to me,” replies Gilli.

What interests me is his profile, his versatility and that he is a complete player.

And then, I don't think that a player who scores 15-20 goals each season is accessible in the January transfer window for Paris FC.

“Vincent Marchetti, it’s a market opportunity”

Paris FC surprised by recruiting the Corsican from AC Ajaccio in conflict with Olivier Pantaloni (coach) and Johan Cavalli (sports coordinator).

Vincent Marchetti (26 years old), 48 L1 matches and 132 L2 matches, signed for two and a half years.

“Recruiting for his position was not a priority, but it is a good market opportunity,” believes Stéphane Gilli.

He is an experienced player who has a different profile from the backgrounds we had.

He is an experienced player who will bring us his passing quality, his temperament and his grinta.

»

His arrival caused the departure of Yohan Demoncy, little used, who returned to Annecy (L2) where he had shone last season.

“I can understand that he was frustrated, but he always remained professional, I had a lot of fun working with him, I thank him and I wish him good luck in Annecy.

“Tuomas Ollila has great potential”

For the first time, Paris FC explored the Scandinavian market with Tuomas Ollila, 23-year-old left back.

The Finnish international (2 caps), who played for HJK Helsinki, was voted best left back of the last Finnish championship.

Very offensive, he scored 7 goals.

He signed a long-term contract of 3 and a half years at Paris FC.

“Our networks suggested it to us and we were won over,” explains Stéphane Gilli.

We know that on the Scandinavian market, we can find players with high potential, reliable and rigorous.

He is international, has played several matches in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League and the Europa League.

He has the profile of a modern full-back, very tactically intelligent.

He is toned, powerful and has a good left paw.

In this position, we had a shortage because Jules Gaudin had no competition and was never able to breathe.

“Yves Dabila gives me satisfaction on the right side”

The right-back position was the priority since Sofiane Alakouch ruptured his cruciate ligaments in early December.

From the end of December, Paris FC had an agreement with Rennes (L1) for the loan of Guéla Doué.

But he made a series of starts in January, satisfied Julien Stephan and it was finally Lorenz Assignon who left Rennes for Burnley FC on Thursday.

Paris FC therefore found itself a little trapped in this story.

“The right-back position was mentioned a lot, perhaps a little too much, but there was a turnaround in the situation,” regrets Stéphane Gilli, who with his staff therefore decided to finish the season with Yves Dabila, central defender. professionally, in this position.

“What Yves Dabila is doing today, I am very happy with it and with his progress,” continues the Parisian coach.

There are players like that who we don't talk about too much but who need to be highlighted.

They are what I call club players, very important players in a group, on the pitch and in the locker room.

Yves gives me satisfaction, he surprises me in this position.

He took his new role to heart and delivered great performances.

If we had to take someone, they would have been better than him.

We didn't want to just take for the sake of taking.
