FC Bayern wins against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Harry Kane and Aleksandar Pavlovic lead the Tuchel team.

The grades and individual criticism of the work victory.

Munich – FC Bayern Munich absolutely needed three points on Saturday afternoon to stay ahead of next week's top game against league leaders Leverkusen.

And Bayern celebrated a 3-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Individual criticism and grades for Bayern's win against Gladbach

First, Munich fell behind against their feared opponents after a bad pass from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to Thomas Müller by Nico Elvedi.

But shortly before half-time, youngster Aleksandar Pavlovic equalized with his second goal in a row.

The hosts struggled for a long time in the second half until a Müller action turned things around.

In the aerial duel, the Raumdeuter put pressure on Gladbach keeper Moritz Nicolas, who missed the mark and involuntarily presented the ball to goal scorer Harry Kane.

The Englishman headed the ball into the empty goal.

Shortly before the end, Matthijs de Ligt also headed the score to 3-1.

The individual criticism and grades of the Bayern stars:

Manuel Neuer

When an arc lamp cross came, the goalkeeper hit his back against the post.

He was at least partially to blame for the 0-1 loss because of his risky pass to Thomas Müller.

Otherwise, not much is required.

Grade: 4

Noussair Mazraoui

From the Africa Cup straight into the starting eleven.

To the surprise of many, the Moroccan started as a right-back against Gladbach - and impressed both defensively with courageous tackles and offensively with clever passes and actions.

Grade: 3

Tuchel has to laugh at Müller's question: Bayern coach explains surprising decision

Matthijs de Ligt

As usual confident in defensive behavior, usual slow in building up the game.

The Dutchman didn't have an easy job against the lively and fast Gladbach attackers.

Uncompromising in the header goal to make it 3-1.

Note 3

Eric Dier

The loanee from Tottenham played all of her routine against the Foals and also put in a confident performance.

His tackling skills were impressive.

Every now and then he tried to put his teammates in the spotlight with long diagonal balls.

That didn't always work.

Note 3

Alphonso Davies

Still with a good performance in Augsburg, weak again against Gladbach.

He was rarely able to use his speed on offense because of his poor positional play.

Often too slow in the head when moving backwards.

A good tackle in the 80th minute.

Grade: 4

Leon Goretzka

Dutiful appearance.

However, Goretzka has been doing more defensive work and has therefore not been able to exploit his strengths as a box-to-box player for some time and is once again in the shadow of his neighbor Aleksandar Pavlovic.

Grade: 4

Aleksandar Pavlovic

The 19-year-old homegrown player is one of the few bright spots in FC Bayern's tough game these days.

He always completes his tasks with flying colors - and once again shone as a goal getter with his goal to make it 1-1.

National coach Julian Nagelsmann is slowly starting to take a closer look at him.

Leroy Sane

He initiated Pavlovic's 1-1 with a fine pass to Müller, who provided the assist.

Otherwise rather unfortunate in his actions.

Symbolic: a shot attempt from 20 meters in the first half, which was more of a football “field goal” category.

His free kick assist to make it 3-1 was all the more emotional.

Note 3

Thomas Müller

A loss of the ball that led to 0-1 and 1.5 assists.

These were the statistics of Müller, who celebrated his 500th competitive win for FC Bayern.

In terms of football, there was room for improvement again - both in receiving the ball and in his crosses.

Grade: 4

(from 71. Mathys Tel: oB)

Jamal Musiala

His dribbling was often successful and worth seeing - but it wasn't effective.

Musiala is currently struggling to make the right decisions in situations he creates.

He thinks for too long.

Grade: 4

Harry Kane

Even when the Englishman is not fully integrated into the offensive game, he still scores.

Like with the header to make it 2-1, when he didn't hesitate for long after Gladbach keeper Moritz Nicolas' mistake and immediately dozed off.

Commendable: Kane also worked a lot in his own half and thereby supported his colleagues in defense.
