There is something happy about the Africa Cup of Nations, everything is very colorful and the football is immersive, probably a little too immersive.
The poor behavior of a number of journalists at a tournament in Ivory Coast has prompted the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to issue a new set of guidelines following consultation with local police.
"There was someone dancing naked in the media tribune," a confederation official told reporters gathered at the Félix Hoppe-Boigny stadium in Abidjan on Friday, explaining the new guidelines: "We simply cannot allow that."

"Although we understand that we are all football fans and passionate about our national teams, journalists are expected to maintain professional standards," the African confederation opened the new guidelines document it distributed, clarifying: "We will have zero tolerance towards any person working in the media who will be involved in wild celebrations and harm colleagues in the profession. Who If he uses foul language in the media areas against coaches, players or colleagues, we will revoke his permission to enter the various media areas. It is not possible for the media work spaces to become boxing arenas and places where they dance naked."
This statement did not come in a vacuum, in light of Ghana's 2:2 draw against Mozambique, qualified journalists cursed players in the interview area, and in addition, Ivory Coast players were also teased after losing 4:0 to Equatorial Guinea.
But the straw that broke the camel's back seems to have been a viral recording of an Ivorian journalist after his team's win over Senegal.
