Ski star Corinne Suter fell badly on the descent in Cortina d'Ampezzo and had to undergo surgery.

A video provides shocking insights.

Munich – Many tragic injuries characterize this World Cup winter.

Just recently, ski star Aleksander Aamodt Kilde suffered a horror fall that could even cost him his career.

The first thing for him is to get healthy again.

However, he is not the only one; the women also had some shocking moments last weekend in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Kilde's girlfriend, ski superstar Mikaela Shiffrin, had to be transported away by helicopter after a fall on the descent, while Swiss Corinne Suter tragically suffered a torn cruciate ligament.

A week after her serious injury, the 29-year-old posted a short video from the hospital that got under your skin.

The clip on Instagram shows numerous pictures of Suter during the first few days after her cruciate ligament surgery on her left knee.

It shows how emotional and stressful these days can be for a competitive athlete.

In one sequence at the beginning she cries, in another she sits on the floor and angrily throws away her shoe, which she cannot put on.

The ski star can also be seen in a wheelchair, but at the end of the video she can laugh again and walk slowly - at least on crutches.

Suter writes: “Tough week.

But giving up is never an option.

As you know, I injured myself and had surgery a day later.

I'm now fully concentrating on my recovery." Her fans admire the 29-year-old ski star for these candid pictures and wish her that she gets well again quickly.

It wasn't Suter's first serious fall on the descent in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

She had already suffered a concussion at the same place the previous year, but just a few weeks later she won bronze at the World Championships.

And this time too she will do everything she can to get back on the boards quickly.

Because giving up is never an option for the ski star.
