Schmidinger, who finished in the top 10 twice in the World Cup, was removed from the Swiss-Ski squad in spring 2022.

A similar fate recently befell Hanna Kebinger, the German biathlete was dropped from the DSV squad and missed the World Cup.

But Schmidinger didn't give up and fought for his dream, even financing his trips out of his own pocket.

Even though top results have not been achieved so far, he has managed to return to the ski elite.

However, the World Cup is currently overshadowed by many injuries: a ski star bursts into tears after another orgy of falls.
