A defamation suit is on the table, according to estimates in Spain after the incident between Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Getafe striker Mason Greenwood in the match between the teams yesterday (Thursday).
According to the small team from the capital city, during the home loss to the Blancos 2:0, the guest in white called their player "rapist", remembering the affair involving Greenwood.

As you may remember, a Getafe player was accused in 2022 of sexually assaulting his partner, was thrown out of Manchester United and was also financially damaged after his various sponsors broke up with him.
Finally, the court dropped all charges against him, but Greenwood chose not to stay in England and embarked on a new career with a La Liga team.
At first it was even reported that Bellingham was the one who convinced Greenwood to switch to Spanish football, but now the English pair are expected, it seems, to meet not only on the football field but also in court.
As mentioned, Greenwood may file a defamation lawsuit against Bellingham, and in any case, until that happens, Getafe demands that Bellingham be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
In Spain it is said that in the management of "La Liga" it was decided that a lip-reading expert would be recruited for the task, and he would decide what exactly Bellingham said to Greenwood and if he did indeed call him a "rapist" or heard, according to a counter claim, he simply said "rubbish".
