The fact that boxing is a dangerous sport has been known for many years, and quite a few boxers suffer even years after retirement from problems resulting from the many blows they received to the head throughout their career.
Today (Saturday) the boxing world received further proof of the problem when they learned of the death of Kazuki Anaguchi, a 23-year-old Japanese boxer.

Almost 40 days ago, Anaguchi participated in a fight where he lost to Seiya Tsutsumi.
After the bell that signaled the end of the fight, he began to show signs of a concussion and was quickly taken to the hospital, where he underwent brain surgery to stop a hemorrhage that began to accumulate in the dura membrane, one of the membranes responsible for protecting the brain.
After the operation, the boxer did not wake up and remained on the floor for 38 days, until he died of his wounds.
Throughout his short career, Anaguchi had a total of 7 fights, of which he won six, and in the last fight in which he lost - he also lost his life.
"Kazuki Anaguchi, by all accounts, had an incredible future ahead of him. He risked that future against his compatriot, who was older, stronger, and more experienced. That's the ambition we as fans demand from young boxers, and that's what killed him," the leading boxing news site said "badlefthook".
