Following the difficult days the country has been going through since October 7, we were hoping to see a different reality on the sports fields.

Last night (Saturday) at the Toto Hall in Holon these hopes were dashed once again in a game in which Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Hapoel Holon 84:86.

Unfortunately, the main event that will be remembered from the game is a Hapoel Holon fan who used physical force against Maccabi player Bonzi Colson, in an unusual event that did not lead to the game being stopped.

After the intervention of the visiting team, the security forces and the local police detained the fan at the end of the game and will question him in the game control room.

The fan, who is considered a familiar figure in the stands, was summoned to the police station in the city and will report to the scene this morning (Sunday) at 10 o'clock.

Officials at Maccabi Tel Aviv reacted sharply to the incident at the end of the game.

"It is illogical and unacceptable that a player has to protect himself from fans. How did the game even resume and the fan wasn't removed? Violent fans must be removed in real time."

The club claimed throughout the evening that a number of Holon fans sitting behind the bench of the visiting team spat in the face of Lorenzo Brown several times.

Coulson, who was at the center of the storm and was the outstanding player of the game, shared his feelings at the end.

"I knew there would be a hostile atmosphere, but this kind of thing is unacceptable. Something has to be done. I will stay cool. I was motivated before, but this woke me up. Holon should suspend him for a few games or the whole season. If I gave him back, they would punish me , so he should certainly be punished. The main thing is that we won - that's the most important thing."

In Hapoel Holon there was a big disappointment with the event as it overshadowed a basketball game and a wonderful display of encouragement by the majority of the purple crowd that almost completely filled the home hall, for the first time, since the war.

"It's a shame that such an unfortunate event damages a great night of basketball and a great sporting atmosphere. Most of the crowd cheered in a sporting manner, the amount of the crowd reminded of good old days. It has no place here and the event needs to be checked."
