Dozens of supporters of the promoted team wanted to do battle with the police after the Lorraine team's seventh loss in a row in Ligue 1.
According to the Luxembourg media L'Essentiel, dozens of people confronted the police on the square in front of the Saint-Symphorien stadium following the match.
Some of his supporters threw barriers, as can be seen in the video broadcast on the social network X (formerly Twitter) by L'Essentiel, and threw firecrackers in the direction of the police.
Several of them were equipped with iron bars and shouted slogans hostile to the management of FC Metz.
If they tried to enter the stadium, the police repelled them several times using tear gas and LBD shots.
According to L'Equipe, calm returned after half an hour of clashes.

The Lorraine club, whose captain Mathieu Udol who tried to discuss with the ultras after the meeting to appease their anger, has not yet communicated on these incidents.
