The 25-year-old Roditi, Israel's top swimmer in the sport, who finished eighth at last year's world championships in Japan, came to the competition after recovering from a broken ankle, but throughout, showed that he had returned to fitness as he progressed from round to round.
In the end, Roditi finished the Olympic distance for 10 kilometers, in a time of 1:48:31 hours.
In the gold medal, the Hungarian Christoph Rasovsky won with 1:48:21.20 hours, 40 hundredths after him, came the Frenchman Marc Olivier, and third was the British Hector Pardo with 1:48:29.20 hours.
With this, Israel's delegation to the Olympic Games this summer in Paris increased to 47 sportsmen and women in total, together with the Olympic champion Artyom Dolgopiat and Lihya Raz in apparatus gymnastics, the equestrian team in the jumping competition, six swimmers.
