Summary: Atletico Madrid - Sevilla/Sport1
An average of six goals provided Madrid's three derbies this season and there is no doubt that the game between them tonight (Sunday) as part of the 23rd round of La Liga was far from delivering the goods in terms of quality, abilities and goals, but there is no greater drama than this.
Real and Atlético drew 1:1 at the Bernabeu, which means the Blancos remain in first place, but two points ahead of Girona and eight away from Barcelona.
Fourth-placed Atlético, on the other hand, is two points away from Barcelona and three points ahead of fifth-placed Bilbao.
If last month Real Madrid won a crazy 3:5 in the Super Cup and then Atlético won 2:4 and kicked the cup holder out of the factory, this time Real Madrid hoped to take revenge for the same dismissal and increase the gap at the top to four points.
The pressure level in the Bernabeu increased when Vinicius Junior was injured in the warm-up and was replaced, but the one who took his place was Brahim Dias who in the 20th minute gave the Blancos the lead.
It already seemed that Ancelotti had pulled out a winner, but deep in extra time, in the 90th + 3rd minute, ex-Marcus Llorente, who grew up in Real, took advantage of a mistake by Dani Carvajal and Nacho who left the ball to each other and beat Andrei Lunin with a shot to score 1: 1.
Atlético, however, closes eight years without an away victory in a derby within the league.
The course of the game
3rd minute: A very strong start by Real.
Bellingham was stopped by Witsel, immediately after that Brahim kicked a ball into the hands of Oblak.
8th minute: First opportunity for Atlético after a smart deep ball from Griezmann to Morata, who from a difficult angle squeezed out a save from Lunin and Carvajal kept the danger away.
20th minute: Goal!
0:1 to Real in the derby.
Dias, who came up in the lineup due to Vinicius' injury in the warm-up, delivered a ball that Koke deflected towards Lucas and Essex, who tried to pass it to Bellingham and didn't find it, but the ball did fall to Dias, who finished perfectly.
Minute 23: Lunin saved a safe goal when he flew and prevented Witsel from equalizing.
Only a corner to Atlético, from which Savić almost equalized, but hit the target.
36th minute: Atlético again tried to score from the air and Llorente found Saúl, who hit near the post.
48th minute: Atletico's goal is disallowed!
Griezmann picked up a corner from the right and Savic hit the far post, but the screen referees noticed that Saul was in a clear gap and because he had hidden Lalonin the goal was disallowed by them.
54th minute: Cross kicked a powerful ball out of the air that flew straight into Oblak's hands.
69th minute: Valverde entered the box and saw Rodrigo on the right standing alone, handed him and he kicked a ball that Oblak was able to take.
It could have been the 0:2.
70th minute: Dias beat Hermoso and Witsel in the area, but kicked out from a difficult angle.
90+3 minute: Goal!
What a drama at the Bernabeu.
A lift into the box ended in a shot by Memphis Depay who kept the ball in the air, Nacho and Carvajal left each other and Llorente said thank you to hit a powerful ball in.
1:1 in the final seconds.
The Blancos thought they were increasing their lead at the top.
