It's the next political bombshell at TSV 1860. One day before the Aue game, Marc-Nicolai Pfeifer was fired as managing director with 50+1.

Munich - Something like that only exists at TSV 1860. The Lions managed to turn the general mood in the area into a positive one with a spectacular transfer offensive, to push the annoying Hans Sitzberger case out of the headlines a bit, and then this: expulsion from CFO Marc-Nicolai Pfeifer (44), who had smiled into the camera the day before with Eliot Muteba, the fourth newcomer.

Just at the moment when Argirios Giannikis asked his squad, which had grown to 31 professionals, for the final training for the away game in Aue on Friday (Saturday, 2:03 p.m. in our live ticker), the next political bombshell burst next door.

President Robert Reisinger personally appeared on Grünwalder Strasse to show the managing director whose contract had already been terminated.

There was a comforting hug from Vice Sitzberger upstairs, Ismaik's Anthony Power was waiting downstairs, with Pfeifer leaving the club premises.

The new managing director of TSV 1860 Munich will be introduced on Monday in the presence of President Reisinger

His successor is already ready: Oliver Mueller, short-term boss of the traditional ice hockey club Kölner Haie in 2017/18.

Like his predecessor, the 45-year-old comes from marketing and, before joining the DEL club, he founded and built up the Karlsruhe-based agency “msc sports” (from 1997).

Their loyal customers include the Warsteiner brewery, Milka and the Spanish professional football club Real Mallorca.

Now Mueller is supposed to help the heavily strained cult brand “TSV 1860” regain its shine, together with the squad renovator Christian Werner.

The doctor of sports science, who has been in office since January 6th, is already the longest-serving boss on the command bridge of the KGaA.

A strong reaction from the HAM side to the next 50+1 hammer should not be long in coming, as Pfeifer recently had a good standing with investor representatives - which ultimately cost him the job he had in the Corona summer of 2020 had taken over.

In a press release at 12.30 p.m., the third division club confirmed the restructuring of the commercial department.

On the Monday after the Aue game, the new financial director will be officially introduced in the presence of Reisinger (11 a.m.).

How does the political earthquake of 1860 affect the three-game unbeaten streak?

It remains to be seen how the recent political earthquake will affect sport.

Before the Pfeifer blast on Friday, positive expectations had spread around the Lions, and a satisfied head coach appeared in front of the press.

Before the bus with some of the new arrivals set off for the Erzgebirge, Argirios Giannikis commented on Werner's transfer offensive.

After praising the existing team, who had taken five points from three games, the coach said: “I think it's a good mix of U-players, talent and experienced professionals.

It was about optimizing the squad - in the positions that we viewed as vacant." With the four new lions - Nankishi, Muteba, Reinthaler and Güler - the squad is now "more complete" and we can now develop "even better" prepare for the tasks in the 3rd league.

On Friday, Giannikis couldn't and didn't want to give an answer to the question of who among the new guys in Aue would be allowed to play.

Experienced Max Reinthaler (28) has the best chance, representing the suspended defense chief Jesper Verlaat - and on the left wing Werder loanee Abdenego Nankishi (21).

What is certain is that the completely revamped team almost has to win so that the turbulent political atmosphere does not immediately put a strain on the new beginning.
