The Golden State star once again gave an impressive personal display and recorded an achievement that only Kobe Bryant did, but his team lost to Atlanta: "It sucks." Unlike the audience and colleagues, are the judges disdainful?

Stephen Curry scored a season-high 60 points tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) in Golden State's 141:134 overtime loss to Atlanta, and illustrated the situation of the Warriors: even when they have one of the biggest stars in the league, it's not enough.

Curry, who scored eight points in overtime, was just 2 points shy of his career high of 62 points against Portland on Jan. 3, 2021. He made 22-of-38 shots from the field, 10-of-23 3-pointers and added 6-of-6 from the line.

Curry became the 10th player in NBA history with multiple 60 point games.

This is the sixth time this season that a player scores 60 or more points, with only two seasons in league history having more times with 60 or more: 17 times in 1961/62, and nine times in 1962/63.

However, 3 of the 6 games of a player scoring 60 or higher were in losses: Devin Booker on January 26th, Karl-Anthony Towns on January 22nd, and tonight Steph Lahat was also defeated.

"It sucks that it didn't lead to anything," he said after the Warriors remained in 12th place in the Western Conference, dropping to 25:21.

"It's frustrating, obviously, not to come away with the victory knowing that a few moves here or there could have led to a different result. It only adds to our frustrating season."

Only 6 free throws for 60 points?

The Warriors were of course delighted by the performance of Steph, who proved how dominant he is when he is at his best.

"He seems to keep getting better, which is special at his age," Draymond Green said.

Coach Steve Kerr described Kerry's game as "amazing".

"We competed like crazy but we just couldn't overcome the deficit," Kerr said.

Dejounte Murray scored the last seven points in Atlanta's 0:11 run at the start of overtime.

Kerry scored 22 points in the fourth quarter, including a jumper with 14 seconds left.

Murray equalized from the penalty line, and Steph missed a shot that could have given his team victory.

Trae Young scored 35 points, and Atlanta used a six-game home streak to win four straight.

Young and Curry hugged on the court, and the Hawks guard admitted that he usually adjusts with great appreciation for Steph's play.

"It's a lot more fun when you win," Young said.

"You always want to fight, you always want to compete, you want to show your best against the best... Steph was hot."

As you know, not only Young is full of admiration for Steph, but also the general public, when it was announced that the best-selling jersey in the NBA is Steph's, above all other stars.

Rookie Brandin Podzimski continued a night of complaints from the Warriors to the refs.

When asked if it was disappointing to "waste" such a performance on a loss, he answered: "Obviously. He is the greatest point guard that has ever been in basketball, and to see him score 60, at the peak of efficiency, and not receive the whistles that other stars receive in the league - only 6 free throws for 60 Points - it was amazing to see. But you always want to come away with the victory, because you won't get to witness it many times."

Kerry became only the second player to score 60 points over the age of 35, after Kobe Bryant.

"It's pretty loud," said Kerry, who nevertheless didn't seem enthused.
