The owner of Beitar Jerusalem owns a company that was issued on the stock exchange for about a billion shekels, has purchased huge food chains and does not dip his hands in the real estate market either • And: where did he start?

Barak Abramov has been in the eye of the storm in recent weeks.

Some of Beitar Jerusalem's fans claim that he does not invest enough money as befits a club of this size, and last week he also quarreled with his good friend Yossi Abouxis, who abandoned his position as the team's coach, apparently on his way to training for Hapoel Tel Aviv.

So does Abramov have enough money to invest higher amounts in the soccer team he owns, investments that will allow it to be more competitive and successful?

"Israel Hayom" came out to check.

Abramov, 44, is considered one of the most respected businessmen in the business sector in Israel.

Andora Investments Ltd., which was established in 2006 and is owned by him, was issued on the stock exchange at a value of one billion shekels. According to estimates, his total capital is estimated at half a billion shekels.

Already at the age of 20, Abramov started working as a dishwasher in the 'Arkapa' chain of cafes and in a short time was appointed branch manager.

Not long after that he became a businessman and the owner of the sushi chain "Japanesea".

In 2010, he expanded his business and bought the shares of three of the four founders of the 'YOGO' chain, for a total of five million shekels.

In fact, at this point he owned 50 percent of the company with a fourth founder holding the remaining percent.

The major turning point in Abramov's business career came in 2015 when, until then, he was the main franchisee of the "Japanesea" sushi restaurant chain, then decided to purchase the chain from the founders, Avi Liani and Shahar Enooshi.

Abramov, the owner of the Andora group which also owned the King George and Yugo chains and some of the Tzipora skewers branches, owned ten Japonica branches in franchises and actually became the owner of all 25 branches.

According to estimates in the economic press at the time, Abramov purchased the chain for an amount ranging from NIS 40 to 50 million.

A year later he entered Israeli football for the first time and became the owner of Bnei Yehuda, on which he spent considerable sums over the years.

In 2017, Abramov continued to increase the properties he owns and together with businessman Amir Yekutiel purchased a building on Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv for NIS 64 million.

The two invested another NIS 25 million in the project, and three years later the two sold the building and earned about NIS 14 million from the deal.

The year 2022 became significant in Abramov's life.

Initially, he purchased Beitar Jerusalem from Moshe Hogg for five million shekels that went to the confiscation fund and 4.125 million shekels for the hogg. Later in the year, Abramov also purchased 40 percent of the 'Olam Hammataki' chain, with the value of the transaction estimated at approximately 13 million shekels.
