The TSV Penzberg athletes were in strong form in the U16 and U20 classes.

Amelie Mayr even managed a furious performance in the shot put.

Munich

– Silver – this is the medal color that TSV Penzberg currently receives most often.

At the Bavarian Cross Country Championships, senior runners Mareike Ressing and Hugo Mann each

received a silver plaque

.

Now the young people followed suit: At the South Bavarian indoor championship for the U16 and U20 age groups in Munich, Amelie Mayr and Franz Thomamüller collected precious metal as runners-up.

Mayr took second place in the shot put in the W14 class.

The 13-year-old pushed the three-kilo ball over the 10-meter mark for the first time and was ultimately only beaten by Nadine Angermann (TSV Bad Endorf), who won with 10.26 meters.

According to a statement, Amelie Mayr showed “an impressive series”.

She recorded her best shot in the sixth, last attempt - with 10.11 meters.

Until then, the athlete from

Obersöchering

had recorded 9.98 meters.

In all previous tests the ball landed well over 9.60 meters in the sand.

Third place, Nina Klink (TuS Pfarrkirchen), came to 9.41 meters;

also a personal best for her.

Mayr also showed a strong performance in the long jump competition and took sixth place with 4.83 meters - she had never jumped that far before.

5.03 meters would have been needed for bronze that day.

Franz Thomamüller impresses over the 400 meters

Franz Thomamüller won

the second silver medal for

TSV Penzberg .

According to TSV coach Markus Brennauer, 18-year-old Bichler showed in his 400-meter debut with 52.73 seconds “not only that he can run very fast, but also has a certain amount of endurance.”

He won his timed race safely and then had to wait to see what the four supposedly fastest runners on the entry list would do in their timed race.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.)

There the Italian Jean-Pierro Araba (LAG Mittlere Isar) lived up to his role as favorite and won with 51.90 seconds.

Behind them, Daniel Funk (LG Aichach-Rehling) and Ben Berger (

LG Augsburg

) fought an exciting duel, which Funk (52.74) won.

This meant that Thomamüller was a hundredth of a second behind Funk and luck was on his side.

In the 60 meter final a few hours earlier he had less luck when he finished fifth with a time of 7.23 seconds, only two hundredths of a difference from the bronze medal.

Nevertheless, Thomamüller was satisfied with his performance, as he had clearly beaten his best performance from the previous week (7.28).

Hannah Petsch had a lot of bad luck with injuries

Luca Glatthaar was also able to record a clear increase.

The 27-year-old Großweiler improved to 4:21.40 minutes over 1500 meters and thus won bronze in the men's race.

He also improved his previous personal best by four seconds.

The TSV athlete showed that he had had a good day, especially in the last 400 meters.

Glatthaar was only 0.19 seconds behind Silber.

Hannah Petsch

(U20) was very unlucky

when she tore a muscle fiber in the back of her left thigh in the B final over 60 meters.

“Very shortly before the finish I suddenly felt a stabbing pain,” reported the 17-year-old from Penzberg.

Nevertheless, she took second place with 8.25 seconds and ended up in tenth place overall.

“Unfortunately, this means Hannah’s short indoor season is over,” said coach Conny Lechner-Brennauer.

(All news and stories from our district can also be found on our Facebook page.)

For Lea Lange (U20) the indoor season will continue.

She impressed in the Werner von Linde Hall in fourth place over 400 meters.

For Lange, the clock stopped after 63.97 seconds.

This means that the 17-year-old from Penzberg has improved by almost half a second compared to the previous week.

However, Josepha Wintzingerode (U20), who came fifth over 800 meters with a time of 2:57.95 minutes, was significantly slower than in the previous competition.

“Somehow I got bad air today,” said the high school student.
