Football: Manchester City beats Brentford, new Premier League single-day goals record

It's quite a record that falls, and which still places, if necessary, the Premier League among the most spectacular and entertaining championships in the world.

With a rate of 3.19 goals per game, the 2023-24 season can break the record for the most goals scored in a single 380-game season by 126 goals.

The current record for a 38-game campaign was set last season, with 1,084 goals.

If the current pace was maintained until the end of May 2024, around 1,210 goals would be scored.
