German extreme athlete Jonas Deichmann is redefining the limits of the human body.

His next project: 120 Ironmans in 120 days.

Roth – There are sporty people, there are extremely sporty people – and then there is Jonas Deichmann.

The native Swabian is already the owner of several world records.

He now wants to set up a new one.

Jonas Deichmann wants to run 120 Ironmans in 120 days

The 36-year-old has set himself the goal of 120 Ironmans in 120 consecutive days.

He wants to complete the supreme triathlon discipline consisting of 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42 kilometers of running 120 times in a row.

An unreal brand that defies the imagination of most people.

But Deichmann has already proven several times that he is capable of incredible things.

In his last challenge, he tortured his body to complete a unique crossing of America.

In three weeks he cycled 5,500 kilometers from the east to the west coast of the USA, only to set off again a day later - on foot.

He completed an ultramarathon every day for 100 days and at the end took part in the New York Marathon to regenerate.

Extreme athlete Jonas Deichmann is starting his next world record attempt

Previously, the Munich resident became the first person to circumnavigate the world in a triathlon in 2021.

He has long been nicknamed the “German Forrest Gump” across the pond.

Deichmann wants to complete his next project in the Franconian triathlon mecca of Roth.

The world record attempt is scheduled to begin on May 9th.

Deichmann will have halftime with the 60th race on July 7th, when the largest triathlon in the world starts in Roth.

Deichmann will then compete with the professionals.

While he will otherwise swim in the Rothsee and not in the Main-Danube Canal like on the day of the competition, the cycling and running routes are the same for Deichmann on the other days.

Triathlon legend Frodeno takes his hat off to Deichmann's crazy Ironman plan

The German triathlon legend Jan Frodeno took off his hat and described the strain as “unimaginably great”.

“In addition to the incredible physical performance, in my eyes it will be a masterpiece to mentally engage in the same extreme performance 120 times in a row,” he told the

“Stringing together 120 good training days wouldn’t be easy just to stay healthy.”

Deichmann has set a target time of 12 hours for each Ironman.

He also took meal breaks into account, because such a long distance burns around 10,000 calories.

But because Deichmann only has a few hours at a time and they should be spent primarily sleeping, he has to eat during the individual long distances.

“I can’t live on liquid food alone for four months,” Deichmann told

The record so far is 105 long distances in a row.

Looking for a new challenge, Deichmann, at 36, sees himself in the prime age of breaking this record.

“Now I’ve reached the point in my athletic performance where I’m simply strongest,” he said and explained again why he’s doing this: “I just want to know what’s going on.” (epp/dpa
