Olympic champion Sofia Goggia falls badly during training.
The season is probably over for the leader of the Downhill World Cup.
Milan – Next injury shock in the Ski World Cup!
As initially reported by

and later confirmed by the Italian Ski Association, Olympic champion Sofia Goggia was seriously injured.
The Italian was flown to hospital in Milan after a training fall with suspected broken tibia and fibula.
There was initially no official diagnosis.
Goggia leads the downhill rankings this season
The accident occurred on Monday morning on the Casola nera slope in Ponte di Legno in the province of Brescia, where Goggia has often prepared for races.
According to
Gazzetta dello Sport,
the 31-year-old got her right leg stuck on the goal when swinging to the right.
The speed queen was then transported away in the rescue helicopter.
The four-time winner of the Downhill World Cup is leading the overall ranking in the queen discipline again this winter.
She won one of the five races so far and was on the podium three more times.
The next departures are on the 16th/17th.
February in Crans Montana (Switzerland).

Goggia joins a prominent line-up with injury
Four races before the end of the season, the Italian is 89 points ahead of Stephanie Venier.
Due to the serious injury, Goggia is unlikely to get the fourth downhill ball in a row and the fifth overall.
Goggia's expected failure would be the next in a true plague season for skiing.
Ski queen Mikaela Shiffrin is currently taking a break
after a serious fall in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The season of Olympic champions Petra Vlhova and Corinne Suter ended prematurely after torn cruciate ligaments.
Goggia won Olympic gold in downhill in 2018
This is not the first serious injury for Goggia.
In 2013, the ski ace tore a cruciate ligament and subsequently had to repeatedly struggle with knee problems.
In 2018, Goggia still won Olympic gold in the downhill.
Before the 2018/19 season, the 31-year-old broke her ankle, followed by fractures of the tibial head and fibula and a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament.
The men also suffered some prominent injuries.
Shiffrin's friend, the former overall World Cup winner Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, had to cut short his season with serious injuries, as did the highly decorated Alexis Pinturault and Marco Schwarz.
