The French top club Paris Saint-German apparently wanted to grab Matthijs de Ligt at the last few minutes - but received a rejection from FC Bayern.

Munich – Matthijs de Ligt was celebrated upon his arrival in Munich and was supposed to become the new head of defense.

A few months later, coach Julian Nagelsmann had to resign and Thomas Tuchel took over.

Since then, the defensive giant has apparently had a difficult time, with two long-term injuries putting him behind.

He therefore found himself on the bench of the German record champions more and more often.

PSG apparently made an offer for de Ligt

With the announcement of FC Bayern's great interest in Barca's Ronald Araujo, rumors also increased that de Ligt could leave the club.

A report from the French newspaper

L'Équipe

doesn't come as a complete surprise.

Accordingly, Paris Saint-Germain is said to have tried to lure the Dutchman to the city of love on the last day of the winter transfer period.

Reason for this: Coach Luis Enrique is said to be dissatisfied with his defensive options; a player like de Ligt would certainly have fit in well.

The German record champions have so far been undermanned in defense and have therefore improved their position in the winter.

Leaving in the winter was never an issue.

Things could look different in the summer, when FC Bayern might be willing to let de Ligt go if they can land a suitable replacement in Araujo, for example.

De Ligt came to the Isar from top Italian club Juventus Turin in the summer of 2022 for a fee of 67 million euros.

Tuchel has made him a substitute more and more often this season, which is why he is certainly not happy.

However, due to Upamecano's injury and the dismissal of Minjae Kim, de Ligt recently started again.

He now has a few more months to fully convince his trainer.
