Earl Corton, two-time NBA champion, passed away yesterday (Sunday) at the age of 66. The cause of his death is not yet known.
Corton, who played 12 seasons in the NBA, won championships with the Philadelphia Sixers (1983) and Houston Rockets (1994).
After retirement, he worked as a basketball commentator for ESPN, mostly in college games.

Between his many NBA seasons, Corton played several years around the world, one of which was in Milan in 1989-90, with the same team that currently plays in the Euroleague.
Born in Detroit, Corton remained loyal to his hometown throughout his life, dedicating his service to local sports until his death.
"He represented our franchise with great passion and enjoyed working to give back and improve the lives of the people in the city he loved so much," the Pistons wrote in parting with Corton.
"We are all heartbroken with this unexpected loss. He was a tremendous teammate, fierce competitor, champion and great human being. Earl always held the Detroit community close to his heart and worked tirelessly to make a difference for him. He was loved. He will be greatly missed," said a Hall member. fame and Corton's ex-boyfriend Isaiah Thomas.
Magic Johnson also said: "I had the pleasure of playing against him at the college and professional level. He had a big heart, he was funny, and it was truly a pleasure to be around him. I got to travel the world with him."
