The former world-class biathlete Laura Dahlmeier was once again out in the mountains and climbed the Alpspitze in a personal best time.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Laura Dahlmeier and the mountains – that fits.

The long-time biathlon ace always delights the Instagram community with snapshots from lofty heights.

She regularly tours the world and pursues her passion; just last August, the 30-year-old climbed a seven-thousander in Tajikistan.

It didn't go quite that high a few days ago, but it climbed at a record pace.

Because as Dahlmeier shared on social media, she set her sights on the Alpspitze in her hometown of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

“A new record for the route from the Kreuzeck valley station to the Alpspitze via Ferrata?

Certainly not!

But for me personally it is.

I could probably get a little faster here and there, it's never completely perfect... but what drives me?" writes the trained mountain guide in her post and then reflects on her time after her active career.

“I am often asked if I miss running races and competing.

My clear answer: NO.

If I want to compete, then only against myself. Like this morning.

Then I'm happy that I was over a quarter of an hour faster than I was over the beautiful slopes in the Corona winter.

And about the great descent,” said Dahlmeier and added: “Without any hype, without TV or media.

Afterwards I enjoy another powder run and a stop at Stuiben, cycle back home and am happy.”

In her post, many people are enthusiastic about Dahlmeier's speed, ski freestyler Sabrina Cakmali comments: "You're crazy Laura." The former German winter sports ace reacts with amusement with three laughing emojis.

However, the pictures that Olympic ski champion Corinne Suter published after her serious fall from the hospital are no laughing matter.
