It doesn't seem surprising that world ski star Mikaela Shiffrin has a certain connection to Austria - but is there actually a move on the cards?
Ramsau - Arnold Schwarzenegger once moved from Austria to the USA in order to become a global star.
An existing world star of winter sports could now go the other way, leave the United States and settle in the Alpine republic.
Whatever the truth of this speculation, the fact is: the rumor mill surrounding ski icon Mikaela Shiffrin and her possible moving plans is bubbling up a lot these days.

Explosive Shiffrin rumor: Is the ski dominator heading to Europe?
Will Mikaela Shiffrin soon move her residence to Ramsau am Dachstein or the surrounding area?
In any case, the speculation surrounding the 28-year-old American is centered on this region.
According to the Austrian
Kleine Zeitung,
the rumors, which have not yet been officially confirmed, say that Shiffrin is currently exploring the real estate site or, alternatively, is looking for a building site.
Ernst Fischbacher, the mayor of Ramsau, is interviewed in the
Kleine Zeitung
and mentions at least one connection between the two-time Olympic champion and the popular tourist hotspot in Styria: “Yes, Mikaela Shiffrin often stays in our community - which of course makes us very happy.” However, he points out: “I haven't heard that she wants to build with us yet.
We also don’t have an application pending.”
There seems to be some personal and professional connection for US ski star Mikaela Shiffrin, but is she really moving her place of residence to the tranquil region around Ramsau am Dachstein (photo on the right)?

Even if it is not yet clear whether there is any truth to the rumors in question, there seems to be at least some suspicion about their origin, the Austrian daily newspaper also explains.
It is highly likely that Mikaela Shiffrin will move due to her relationship with the Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, who recently experienced a horror fall.
He in turn has a close connection to the Ramsau Mitter family around Wolfgang Mitter, who, as ÖSV general secretary, organized the 1999 Nordic World Ski Championships in his hometown.

Furthermore, Mitter's son Christian, previously head coach of the ÖSV women, is now employed by the Norwegian Ski Association.
But that's not all: Another son of Wolfgang Mitter, Mark Mitter, recently joined Shiffrin's supervisory staff.
He also confirmed to the
Kleine Zeitung
: “We are in Ramsau very often because it is very central to the races in Lienz, Kransjka Gora and Zauchensee.
We also have the best training conditions at the Reiteralm.”

By the way, Mikaela Shiffrin is currently said to be in Innsbruck with Kilde, where they both apparently have an apartment.
Here the American ski ace and her partner can recover from their recent injuries - whether exclusively for their further sporting competitions or for an imminent move, only the winter sports dream couple themselves knows that.
