Goggia won Olympic gold in downhill in 2018

This is not the first serious injury for Goggia.

In 2013, the ski ace tore a cruciate ligament and subsequently had to repeatedly struggle with knee problems.

In 2018, Goggia still won Olympic gold in the downhill.

Before the 2018/19 season, the 31-year-old broke her ankle, followed by fractures of the tibial head and fibula and a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament.

The men also suffered some prominent injuries.

Shiffrin's friend, the former overall World Cup winner Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, had to cut short his season with serious injuries, as did the highly decorated Alexis Pinturault and Marco Schwarz.
