Courageous performance: Fynn Lakenmacher, often maligned, did almost everything right against Essen and also scored decisively to give the team a 1-0 lead.

TSV 1860 Munich gained breathing room in the relegation battle of the 3rd league with a 2-0 home win in the catch-up game against Rot-Weiss Essen.
Munich – Turbulence in the executive committee, four new players, a new finance director – and a lot of internal trouble in between.
Where other clubs first have to shake themselves up, 1860 continues as if nothing had happened.
Marc-Nicolai Pfeifer, who was released on Friday before the 0-0 draw in Aue, also appeared at the Grünwalder Stadium on Tuesday evening as a matter of course.
He received a lot of support there - and witnessed a lion performance that seemed so mature, as if there had never been any fear of relegation around the Giesinger Streitverein.
TSV 1860 optimally implements its own plan against RW Essen
In the traditional duel with Rot-Weiss Essen, the Lions deservedly won 2-0 (1-0).
Fynn Lakenmacher (33rd) and Julian Guttau (47th) scored dream goals that gave the team of the still unbeaten Argirios Giannikis a five-point cushion on 17th place in the table.
give Mannheim.
“We defend together, we attack together – everyone puts themselves at the service of the team,” said the former RWE coach.
“I think we had a good plan, implemented it well and were ice cold up front,” said goal scorer Lakenmacher.
The German champion from 1966 against the one from 1955, the whole thing under floodlights and in a stadium that already existed back then.
This pairing radiated pure nostalgia, but currently the 3rd league is the order of the day - probably a little longer for 1860.
Rot-Weiss Essen, on the other hand, has gained a chance for promotion thanks to Dresden's weakness and its own persistence.
Fynn Lakenmacher puts TSV 1860 Munich in front
The Lions began accordingly with a wait-and-see approach, with one of them repeatedly causing a murmur in the stands: Abdenego Nankishi, who was called up by Giannikis as the only one of the four new Lions in the starting line-up.
The pace and technique of the Werder loanee is breathtaking.
In terms of potential, he is certainly one of the best players on the field - and what should particularly please the 1860 coach: the German-Angolan is also willing to take part in the arduous defensive runs.
But another offensive force from the Lions broke the ice.
Lakenmacher, always trying, rarely effective, saw after a good half hour how Voufack's back pass deflected into his direction.
The giant sprinted past Rios Alonso - and when he only had Golz representative Felix Wienand in front of him, he coolly pushed the ball into the net with his left flick.
A goal that showed: If you put your trust in the often criticized model athlete, “Lake” will pay back – at least in home games, where he scored all of his 13 goals for 1860.
Julian Guttau makes the decision with a dream goal
We went into the break 1-0 – and as soon as we got back on the pitch it was already 2-0.
The Lions came out of the locker room greedily and went for it when the insecure Wienand played out of the back.
Nankishi pressed, Frey pushed the ball to Guttau, who took the shot from 14 meters.
Into the corner with the strong left foot.
A goal that shows the Lions' increased self-confidence.

Essen responded with a quadruple substitution (61'), but still had no ideas.
The Lions had little trouble controlling the game and looked more ripped off than they had in a long time.
Nankishi and Schröter, who was pale yesterday, called it a day early (68').
Giannikis brought in fresh wingers in Ouro-Tagba and Vrenezi, but the big momentum was now gone from the traditional duel.
It remained a 2-0 win for the Lions, who continued in restless mode.
On Sunday Ingolstadt (4.30 p.m.) comes with the ex-Lion Michael Köllner, who was there yesterday – and must have been amazed.
