His signing was highly controversial among fans, but since then Manuel Neuer has won eleven German championships.
Now the FC Bayern goalkeeper has reached another milestone.
Munich - Many Bayern fans resisted the transfer of Manuel Neuer in 2011, and images of the “koan Neuer” signs went around the world.
But the Gelsenkirchen native provided the answer on the pitch and has since won eleven championships and lifted the DFB Cup six times.
He also celebrated winning the Champions League with his team in 2013 and 2020.
Now he has reached another milestone in his Bayern career.

Because with his appearance in the home win against Borussia Mönchengladbach (3-1), Manuel Neuer moved into the top 10 Bundesliga record players at FC Bayern Munich.
With a total of 334 Bundesliga games, he is currently in tenth place on the list - together with Mehmet Scholl.
The goalkeeper can surpass Scholl in the top game against Leverkusen at the weekend, provided he can play.

Neuer can even surpass Bayern icon Beckenbauer
However, Europe's Goalkeeper of the Year 2020 can move even further up the rankings.
This Bundesliga season, Neuer is likely to overtake Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is in 9th place with 342 games.
Bernd Dürnberger, who was active for FCB from 1972 to 1985, should also be within reach.
In seventh place is Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer, who played a total of 396 Bundesliga games.
Contract until 2025: Neuer hopes for a second “finale at home”
Neuer is under contract in Munich until June 30, 2025.
This theoretically gives the goalkeeper the chance to play a second “final at home”, as the final will take place in the Munich Arena in 2025.
