South Africa will once again host the Under-20 World Cup in 2024 this summer, World Rugby announced on Wednesday.
The 2024 World Cup will bring together “the twelve best U20 nations in the world”, divided into three groups of four, “from June 29 to July 19”, specified the governing body of world rugby in a press release.
This is the second time in a row that the rainbow nation has hosted the World Cup in the category, the third in total.
Before this 2023 edition, the three previous editions of the tournament had been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For this 2024 World Cup, the Bleuets, triple title holders (2018, 2019, 2023), are in Pool A with New Zealand, Wales and Spain.
An already very tough group for a group in reconstruction, which has lost many executives.
The phenomenon Posolo Tuilagi, selected for the first time for the France team against Ireland last Friday, could however be there since he is only 19 years old.
The Baby Boks, third in the last four U20 World Cups, will face England, Argentina and Fiji in Pool C, while Ireland, world vice-champion in 2023, will challenge Australia , Georgia and Italy.
The final is scheduled for Cape Town Stadium on July 19.
