Joy for Frida Hansdotter: The Olympic champion has given birth to her second child.

Will there soon be congratulations from the royal family?

Stockholm – Her unflattering nickname was “the eternal second” for a long time.

In the end, Frida Hansdotter was crowned Olympic champion and won the small slalom crystal ball - and things are currently going too well in her private life for the former top skier from Sweden.

Frida Hansdotter becomes a mother for the second time

Because on January 7, 2024 she gave birth to her second child, as Hansdotter proudly announced on Instagram.

The 38-year-old shared a picture on her account of little legs being held by herself, her partner Richard Jansson and their son Colin.

She wrote: “Welcome to the world, little one.”

Of course, there were many congratulations for the former slalom specialist in the comments.

Former Austrian skier Anna Veith wrote: “Congratulations, Frida.” Nina Haver-Løseth, a former Norwegian racer, joined in with an “Awww congratulations.”

And Felix Neureuther congratulated the birth of his daughter, whose name is not yet known, with a red heart emoji.

And there certainly must have been congratulations from the Swedish royal family.

Because: Frida Hansdotter is actually related to the royal family!

Prince Daniel, husband of Crown Princess Victoria, is her second cousin.

Britt-Marie Westring Johansson, Hansdotter's mother, who died in 2012, was the cousin of Ewa Westling (formerly Westring) - Prince Daniel's mother.

The Olympic champion and the Crown Princess's husband only met for the first time in 2019 at the Swedish sports gala.

Frida Hansdotter (l.) became a mother for the second time.

It's quite possible that there will also be congratulations from the Swedish royal family: Prince Daniel (pictured right, here with his wife Crown Princess Victoria) is Hansdotter's second cousin.

Frida Hansdotter and Prince Daniel of Sweden: First meeting was in 2019

“It’s nice to meet Daniel for the first time,” Hansdotter explained at the time.

The two had a good chat - certainly also about skiing, which she did so successfully and which he counts as one of his greatest hobbies.

A relative in the royal family, an Olympic champion as a mother - and the father is also famous: Richard Jansson used to be a professional ice hockey player.

It cannot be ruled out that Hansdotter's offspring will one day actively engage in winter sports.

Until then, the happy family still has plenty of time for the four of them to spend time together.

Tina Weirather will soon also be enjoying time with her family.
