For its part, Nigeria came out of its group much more easily by being undefeated.
The Super Eagles then reached the quarters by eliminating Cameroon (2-0).
The rest of the journey was more complicated with a victory down to the wire (1-0) in the quarter against Angola and a qualifier at the end of the suspense against South Africa (1-1 tab 4-2).
The two teams will meet for the final on Sunday February 11 at 9 p.m. at the Alassane Ouattarra stadium in Abidjan.
