The body responsible for football's constitution - IFAB - planned to carry out a historic move and launch a blue card that would allow players to be sent off for a period of ten minutes.
However, desires are trapped and reality is trapped, and following the criticism of the move, IFAB decided to postpone the announcement until at least next month.
The announcement was supposed to come today (Friday), but The Times reported that the issue will be discussed again at the IFAB annual conference in March.
This move, they claim, casts a heavy shadow on the question of whether the blue card will even make its way into professional football.
The blue card was taken as inspiration from similar laws in sports such as handball, rugby and ice hockey - where players can be removed for a short period of time following unsportsmanlike offenses or criticism of the refereeing team.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was asked about his opinion regarding the blue card, and admitted that he is not a big fan of the idea: "It doesn't sound like a fantastic idea, but I don't remember when these people had a fantastic idea."
His predecessor at Anfield and current Celtic coach, Brendan Rodgers, also expressed his opposition.
The one who already yesterday sent a sting following the initiative is Mesut Ozil.
The former Real Madrid man took advantage of this to criticize the aggressive playing style of his former city rival and tweeted: "Does this mean Atlético will only play with six players?"
