Hasan Ismaik meets with the new managing directors and attends the 1860 training. There will be no meeting with the executive board.

Munich - You have to give it to Hasan Ismaik: He is always good for a surprise.

Only on Sunday did the Jordanian publicly complain that there was a “radical minority” at work at 1860 that was making uncoordinated decisions to “damage” his club.

Now he suddenly appeared in the flesh.

On Thursday it was still a secret command matter - at a hotel date with the new 50+1 managing directors appointed by the eV.

The next day it will be effective in the media – for a photo with the professional team and coaching staff.

At least one more meeting was planned afterwards – with Martin Gräfer from the main sponsor “Die Bayerische”.

Hasan Ismaik in Munich – no meeting with the eV side

What brought him to Munich?

The lion community waited in vain for an official communiqué.

But our newspaper knows: This time Ismaik was not staying in the Mandarin Oriental, but in the Bayerischer Hof - and there he met with two new senior employees of his Munich football company on Thursday from 4 p.m.

With Christian Werner, who became sports director, although Ismaik initially wanted to try him out as a simple sports director.

And with Oliver Mueller, the new commercial director, who has replaced Marc-Nicolai Pfeifer, who was highly valued by the HAM side (and dismissed by the eV).

As is well known, Mueller and Werner were used by the club at 50+1 - i.e. against Ismaik's wishes.

Then on Friday a typical Ismaik performance.

Typical, since it was unannounced – and with the appropriate fanfare.

A black limousine drove up to the 60s area, which was guarded by stewards.

They got out: Ismaik and his entourage (brother Yahya, Anthony Power), flanked by bodyguards.

Certainly not a bad idea given the heated political mood at “his” club – but in this case unfounded.

Ismaik haters were not there at the time of the secret training, only the team and the stuff around the new head coach Argirios Giannikis.

“I met him for the first time.”

Lions captain Jesper Verlaat on Ismaik's training visit

Photos were taken and small talk was made.

According to the Löwen homepage, “Hasan Ismaik appreciated the achievements of the past games and was optimistic for the coming games.”

Captain Jesper Verlaat told our newspaper: “It was the first time I met him.” There wasn't much time to get to know him better, because as soon as the desired photos were uploaded to the social media channels, he was gone again.

Departure on Friday?

Hasan Ismaik against FC Ingolstadt probably not in the Grünwalder Stadium

The next meeting was scheduled for the afternoon: Ismaik had arranged to meet Gräfer, who not only represents the main sponsor “Die Bayerische” but also the “Alliance for 1860”.

The aim of the new initiative is to counteract the political division at TSV.

Which would be sorely necessary.

Significantly: A meeting with eV representatives was not planned - and the chance for a spontaneous meeting was wasted on both sides.

It is customary for the executive board to meet with the managing directors on Fridays at 2 p.m. for a jour fixe.

But Ismaik didn't last that long on Grünwalder Strasse.

And his main opponent wouldn't have shown up on Friday anyway.

President Robert Reisinger had a notary appointment - the aim was to have the finance chief Mueller, who Ismaik did not want, entered in the commercial register in a watertight manner.

Better safe than sorry.

Ismaik had recently questioned the legality of the order.

He apparently ended his spontaneous visit to Munich that evening.

Showing up at the Grünwalder Stadium for the game against FC Ingolstadt on Sunday didn't seem to be a serious consideration.

But he keeps his fingers crossed for the lions.

Verlaat: “He wished us good luck.”
