Logically, Jürgen Klopp is associated with the DFB after his time at Liverpool FC.

Joti Chatzialexiou has a clear tendency.

Frankfurt – After the European Championships next summer, Julian Nagelsmann’s contract as national coach will end.

It is currently unlikely that he will continue to coach the German national team after the home European Championships.

Since Jürgen Klopp is resigning from Liverpool FC at the end of the season, he will of course also be associated with the position.

A DFB employee who has worked for many years has a clear tendency.

Will Nagelsmann continue or will the DFB make an advance on Klopp?

Last fall, Julian Nagelsmann took over the German national team at an all-time low.

The 36-year-old should lead the four-time world champion's team back to its former glory and make it competitive for the home European Championships next summer.

His contract expires after the tournament and it is uncertain whether he will extend it.

When the news came from England that Jürgen Klopp would be leaving Liverpool FC in the summer, speculation was further fueled.

Quite a few football fans in Germany would like the former Dortmund player to be the national coach.

However, after his statement about his departure from the Reds, it doesn't look like he will be starting a new job in the summer.

Joti Chatzialexiou can imagine Jürgen Klopp becoming involved with the DFB in the medium term.

DFB insider Chatzialexiou sees Klopp as national coach in the medium term

Joti Chatzialexiou, the DFB's sporting director, spoke

to

T-Online about Jürgen Klopp's potential commitment to the DFB.

“Jürgen has the choice himself.

If the situation arises, then the offer will come from the DFB, I'm sure of that," explained the 47-year-old.

Until the end of last year, Chatzialexiou worked for the DFB in various positions for a good 20 years and knows the association very well.

He could easily imagine Klopp getting involved with the DFB, but first he has to wait for the European Championships next summer.

Chatzialexiou does not believe in Nagelsmann's long-term commitment to the DFB

But before Klopp becomes a serious issue for the DFB, the association has an important tournament coming up.

The home European Championship will be about the national team presenting itself better than in 2023. The current national coach Nagelsmann is responsible for this, with Chatzialexiou not believing in a long-term commitment.

“He is certainly someone who will prefer day-to-day business again in the future,” he said and added: “I doubt whether he will do the job as national coach for several years at his young age.”

Chatzialexiou also commented on Toni Kroos' potential return to the national team.

“Apparently, without Toni, Germany does not have the quality in this position that they need to compete at the top international level,” he explained, making it clear that no one has been able to take his position since Kroos left in 2021.

He described this as an “indication of poverty for German football”.
