Far from being convincing and flamboyant, the XV de la Rose never gave up this Saturday.
Led throughout the match, despite two big starts to the match and the second half, Steve Borthwick's men won with forceps against the Red Devils.
The English took advantage of Mason Gardy's voluntary forward in the last minutes to pass the penalty for victory.
England take first place in the Six Nations thanks to this victory, pending the meeting between Ireland and Italy on Sunday.

…without a great George Ford
Clearly not the best match of the opening half in the XV de la Rose jersey.
Despite his winning penalty in the 72nd minute and a magnificent kick a minute before to find a good touch, Ford did not seem in great form this Saturday.
This is evidenced by his failed transformation in the misunderstanding in the 21st minute, following Ben Earl's try, where he did not even bother to shoot in the face of the Red Devils rushing towards him and the ball.
An extremely rare and very surprising scene at this level of the competition.
Mason Grady weighed down his team
Coming into play in the 61st minute, the Welsh center killed his team's hopes just under ten minutes from the end of the match.
The Cardiff player signed a terrible voluntary forward which gave George Ford the opportunity to pass the winning penalty in the 72nd minute, while collecting a yellow card.
