+++ 11.40 p.m.:

Bayer Leverkusen welcomes Fortuna Düsseldorf in the second semi-final.

“That was our wish,” said Fortuna coach Daniel Thioune afterwards with a touch of humor.

“We want to compete with the best.”

+++ 11.39 p.m.:

1. FC Kaiserslautern meets the winner of the duel between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

If the FCS wins, it will receive home advantage from the Lauter team.

+++ 11.37 p.m.:

Saarbrücken sports director Jürgen Luginger is also in the audience in Mainz.

The draw begins.

+++ 11:36 p.m.:

The draw for the DFB Cup semi-finals will begin in just a few moments.

The follow-up report on the top Bundesliga game is over, Béla Réthy is about to draw the matches.

The DFB's drawing officer is Manuel Hartmann.

+++ 11.30 p.m.:

“I know what I don’t want,” said Fortuna coach Daniel Thioune about his favorite opponent in the cup semi-finals.

The Düsseldorf coach would like to avoid a duel with Bayer Leverkusen as much as possible.

+++ 11:27 p.m.:

For 1. FCK, the double draw would probably also be a balm for the soul.

Finally, Dimitrios Grammozis' team lost 1-2 against SC Paderborn in the 2nd Bundesliga in front of their home crowd in the evening, the ninth of the last ten games.

Now Kaiserslautern is even in danger of slipping into direct relegation - in the DFB Cup, however, the Palatinate team is showing a completely different face this year.

+++ 11:21 p.m.:

The Saarbrücken team, if they qualify for the semi-finals, would certainly be happy about a Saar-Palatinate derby against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

The “Red Devils”, also still in the draw, fondly remember a memorable cup encounter between the two local rivals.

In the 1997/98 season, the Lauterers won 4-0 at FCS in the second round.

Although they failed in the round of 16 against the eventual winners, FC Bayern, the then promoted team sensationally won the championship in the Bundesliga at the end of the season.

+++ 11:16 p.m.:

It's worth taking a look at possible pairings in advance.

Thioune's Düsseldorfer beckons a derby in two respects.

Both a duel against Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen and a clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach would have a local touch.

However, the “Foals” are not yet in the round of the last four; they will not make up for their quarter-final against 1. FC Saarbrücken, which was canceled due to weather, in March.

+++ 11.10 p.m.:

Fortuna Düsseldorf's head coach Daniel Thioune is a guest in the sports studio today.

He is particularly fascinated by the draw, as his team is in the semi-finals of the cup.

A week and a half ago, Fortuna won 6-5 on penalties at FC St. Pauli in the quarter-finals.

+++ 11:07 p.m.:

Before the draw starts, the program briefly focuses on the top game of the Bundesliga match day between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Bayern Munich.

The “Werkself” won the top game in the evening 3-0.

+++ 11:04 p.m.:

At the beginning of the show, Sven Voss announces a failure.

U17 world champion Konstantin Heide, who was actually scheduled to be the evening's lottery ticket, has to miss out due to illness.

Reporter icon Béla Réthy will take his place at short notice.

+++ 11 p.m.:

The current gym is about to begin.

Moderator Sven Voss will lead the drawing in Mainz.

Update from February 10th, 10:57 p.m.:

In just a few minutes the time has come when lottery fee Konstantin Heide will draw the semi-final pairing of the DFB Cup season.

Who meets who?

We'll know more soon.

These are the participating teams:

Bayer Leverkusen

Fortuna Dusseldorf

2nd Bundesliga

1. FC Kaiserslautern

2nd Bundesliga

1. FC Saarbrücken/Borussia Mönchengladbach (winner still to be determined)

First report from February 10th, 5:45 p.m.:

Mainz – The 2023/24 season still lasts more than three months, but four teams are not far away from the DFB Cup final in Berlin.

The semi-finals are just around the corner.

Now the draw for the matches in the round of the last four will take place on Saturday evening (11 p.m., live in ZDF's “current sports studio” and in the stream in the ZDF media library).

DFB Cup draw in the live ticker: Who will duel in the semi-finals?

Four teams are still in the draw and are aiming for the DFB Cup.

And the semi-finals promise exciting constellations even before the draw.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen, who narrowly defeated VfB Stuttgart 3-2 in a top-class quarter-final, are the big favorites.

There are also two second division teams in the semi-finals: Fortuna Düsseldorf (6:5 on penalties against FC St. Pauli) and 1. FC Kaiserslautern (3:1 against Hertha BSC).

There is also a double ticket in the draw, which includes 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Although only three semi-final participants have been determined: DFB Cup draw live

The double draw is due to the weather in Saarbrücken last Wednesday (February 7th).

The FCS and Borussia should have determined the fourth semi-finalist that evening.

But the DFB Cup quarter-final between the two teams was canceled due to heavy rain.

The DFB has now set the rescheduled date for the game to March 12th.

Although a team in the field has not yet been determined, the semifinals will be drawn on Saturday evening.

But one thing is already certain: If Saarbrücken prevails, the frightening favorites will also enjoy home rights in the semi-finals as a third division team.

The DFB Cup final will take place in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on May 25th.

Now the semi-final matches will be drawn.
