In the 3-0 defeat against Leverkusen, Bayern loanee Josip Stanisic scored to give the Werkself the lead.

Thomas Tuchel therefore wants a change in the rules.

Leverkusen – The heavy 0-3 defeat in the top game at Bayer Leverkusen left deep wounds at FC Bayern.

Not only are the record champions now five points behind the Werkself in the championship race, but they also have to question their play in a top game after one of the weakest performances in recent years.

While Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel miscoached himself in the top game at an inopportune time, Bayer coach Xabi Alonso's plan worked completely - and right in the middle of it all was Bayern loanee Josip Stanisic.

In the 18th minute, the full-back used a low cross from Robert Andrich from the left side at the far post and opened the scoring against his parent club.

Instead of cheering and running for joy over the important opening goal, the 23-year-old stretched his arms up in apology, but that was probably little consolation for Tuchel.

The Bayern trainer complained after the game: “There's a nice rule in England: If you loan players out, they can't play against you.

I think that makes the most sense.

“I’ve seen it too often that the player of all people is involved,” said Tuchel.

“Unfortunately, this rule does not exist in Germany.

That's why we are the ones who suffer today," added Tuchel.

Bayern coach Tuchel criticizes the loan player regulations in the Bundesliga

In fact, in the English Premier League, the rule automatically applies to loans that those loaned players are not allowed to play against their parent club.

Tuchel himself was coach of Chelsea FC in the Premier League from January 2021 to September 2022, so he did not concede any goals from loaned players there.

However, there is no such regulation in the Bundesliga.

Only in rare cases does the transferring club anchor a corresponding clause in the loan contract.

Particularly bitter for Bayern: At the beginning of the season, Stanisic was given away in the hope that the youngster could gain more playing time with the Werkself and then return to the record champions.

But even in Leverkusen, the Croatian international often just sits on the bench.

His starting eleven in the top game only came about because Odilon Kossounou is on duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Against FC Bayern of all places, Stanisic took advantage of his chance right from the start.

Stanisic on loan scores – Tuchel and Bayern team-mates quarrel

“I just walked in, there was no plan behind it.

But when the ball came through, I thought: Now you can hit it too,” said Stanisic about his goal.

Thomas Tuchel, on the other hand, complained: “You can’t concede the goal in a five-man chain.

That doesn't work.

Everyone is just sleeping.” Bayern veteran Thomas Müller, however, criticized more than just the defensive performance in a memorable interview.

For Stanisic it was only the second Bundesliga goal of his career - much to the dismay of his Munich teammates.

“Since when have you been able to score a goal?” Leroy Sané asked him almost reproachfully in the hallway after the final whistle.

“It's just a typical football story that Josip, of all people, scores the 1-0,” added Bayern's CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.

However, Stanisic was not the only personality who caused a lot of discussion after the final whistle.

Joshua Kimmich was deeply disappointed by Tuchel's decision not to let him play from the start.
