Along with Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz is considered the greatest talent in German football.
Is he about to move to FC Bayern?
His father speaks plainly.
Leverkusen – In football you are very quick to come up with superlatives.
Scandals, sensations, records – “higher, faster, further” no longer knows any boundaries.
And quite often this is exaggerated.
But when you talk about Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz as two German talents of the century, there is a lot of truth in it.
Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala: The future of German football
Because two exceptional talents like the Munich and Leverkusen players are very, very rare in this country.
Kai Havertz was considered the last mega-talent from Germany.
Before that, maybe Mario Götze.
And then you have to go back to Lothar Matthäus.
Musiala and Wirtz represent exceptional qualities as individual players, a real rarity in the DFB team.
Because there, people have always come via the collective.
The fact that two real sports superstars are now maturing in black, red and gold is an exceptional phenomenon.
Accordingly, the hype is also high before the direct duel between Leverkusen and FC Bayern.
FC Bayern was interested in the young Florian Wirtz – “never gave it a thought”
The question remains: what does the future look like for both of them?
Maybe one day they will even play together at FC Bayern Munich?
There have been rumors about a possible Wirtz move to the Isar for years.
His father Hans-Joachim Wirtz, who is also the 20-year-old's advisor, has now commented on this - and also revealed where his talented son could play in the coming season.
Before the then 16-year-old Florian Wirtz moved from Cologne to Leverkusen (January 2020), Bayern also looked at him.
But nothing more.
Because as Hans Wirtz explained in
Kicker
, his son “never gave a thought to Bavaria” back then.
And further: “Florian was still very young and wasn’t supposed to leave his parents’ house yet, but rather finish school here first.
He played well as a youth, but it wasn't yet clear what kind of player he would become.
The flower was still growing.”
From Bavaria to Bavaria?
If Florian Wirtz's father and advisor Hans has his way, then the exceptional talent will also play in Leverkusen next season.

Wirtz move to FC Bayern?
His father sends a clear signal
And in the future?
At the moment, “everything is geared towards Florian playing in Leverkusen again next season,” Wirtz recently said on
Sky
.
In
Kicker
he adds: “Playing in the Champions League would be a step that can still be taken in Leverkusen.
That's a good perspective.” A clear signal to FC Bayern that a move to Munich is unlikely to happen so quickly.
The son's contract runs until 2027.
An interesting aspect compared to other young stars: Wirtz is looked after by his father.
Unlike other advisors, the dad's primary concern is of course the sustainable and healthy development of his son - as a footballer and as a person.
The first mega-contract, the big salary, the spectacular, wide world - none of this is the top priority at Wirtz.
A contrast to the modern football world, which recently experienced a new level of escalation in Hamburg.
