Thomas Tuchel came under heavy criticism after FC Bayern's defeat against Bayer Leverkusen.

Some fans are even calling for his expulsion.

Munich – Things will be tight for Thomas Tuchel at FC Bayern.

After Munich's disastrous 0:3 (0:1) defeat at Bayer Leverkusen, the coaching question immediately started making the rounds in the Isar metropolis.

FC Bayern: Thomas Tuchel's plan doesn't work against Bayer Leverkusen

After a shockingly weak performance and goals from Josip Stanisic (18th minute), Alejandro Grimaldo (50th) and Jeremie Frimpong (90th + 5), Tuchel's line-up against the “Werkself” in particular has been criticized.

In the press reviews on Sunday (February 11th) one could read that the Bayern coach had “gambled away”.

Because: Tuchel had his men surprisingly use a three-man chain against the strong Rhinelanders, probably in order to create outnumbered situations in the midfield.

The only thing is that the plan didn't work at all.

The day after the defeat in the Bundesliga top game, individual fans even called for the coach to be kicked out with a poster on Säbener Strasse.

Sports reporter Stefan Kumberger posted a photo of “der Säbener”, where the office of the German record champions is located in the southeast of Munich.

A poster had apparently been put up next to the parking garage that said: “Tuchel out”.

Will this fan demand give Munich bosses pause?

FC Bayern: Thomas Tuchel leaves Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller on the bench

CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen didn't really support his coach after the defeat in Leverkusen.

“Why is that?

There are experts for that.

We have to ask the coach,” said the CEO about Bayern’s fluctuating performances this season.

The coach in question classified FC Bayern's weak performance with the words: "The game didn't feel like a 3-0 defeat."

And: “I would play with this line-up again.” But it was this line-up from Munich that caused a lot of criticism.

Because: Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller only sat on the bench, although both are known as mentality players.

Kimmich in particular was disappointed after the Leverkusen game.

The Swabian said he “did everything” to be in the starting line-up.

Vain.

Thomas Tuchel: Stefan Effenberg gives Bayern coach responsibility for defeat

“That hasn't been played like that before this season, it was incomprehensible to me.

Bayern is a club that has played in a back four for years.

“They dictate the game, if you roll the dice now, you’ll see the players’ uncomfortable feeling,” criticized ex-FCB professional Stefan Effenberg in Sport1’s “One-two” for Tuchel’s choice of a three-man chain.

“It wouldn’t be wrong to admit a mistake sometimes.

Yesterday's game was so crucial for the head.

Then you see Bayern, who are missing everything,” the former national player continued.

Müller is “a central figure in Munich – and you have to let him play clearly.

Or Joshua Kimmich.

He’s in low performance, but he’s a central figure,” explained Effenberg in the Sunday football talk.

The fact that Tuchel decided against both of them in the starting line-up “is the main reason why they completely deserved to lose”.
