A tragic incident ended with the death of a soccer player in the middle of a friendly match in Bandung, Indonesia yesterday (Saturday).
A lightning strike hit the 34-year-old player who collapsed on the grass to the astonishment of both teams.
The local media claimed that he was still breathing after the lightning strike and was rushed to a hospital, but there he was pronounced dead shortly after due to the serious damage he sustained.
The shocking scenes from the event were shared on the social network.
Unbelievably, this is the second time a footballer in Indonesia has been struck by lightning in the past year.
The previous case occurred in a children's league, but did not end in tragedy, when the hospital performed successful CPR on a player who regained consciousness after suffering a cardiac arrest.
In 2023, a 21-year-old Brazilian soccer player was also injured and died from a lightning strike, which injured six other players in the same match.
