Real Madrid only made it to the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 with a scratch.
Leipzig – Real Madrid's journey to the Champions League game in Leipzig was anything but royal.
After the Madrilenians had put FC Girona in their place in the top game of LaLiga and thus taken a big step towards their 36th championship title, the trip to Germany turned into a real odyssey.
Real Madrid flight must be routed to Erfurt
Those responsible at Real Madrid had to reschedule at the weekend: there was a strike at Leipzig Airport.
Instead of a direct flight to Leipzig, the Real Stars had to take a small detour via Erfurt on Monday.
The team bus would then take us to Leipzig, 150 kilometers away.
But the magical journey also continued on the road.
Real Madrid around Toni Kroos survived the chaos of their journey to Leipzig unscathed.

Real Madrid team escapes shock after accident
Because a driver hit the Real Stars bus on the A4 motorway.
He probably collided with the bus due to carelessness, said a police spokesman in response to a dpa request in Erfurt.
He damaged the wing mirror of his own car.
But there was still sheet metal damage.
Because not only the driver, but also the Royal team in the Real bus, which was accompanied by the police, escaped with horror.
The bus sustained a scratch.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the Royal team reached their hotel in the heart of the city of Leipzig before the final training session in the evening.
“We arrived well, everything went well,” said Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
It is questionable whether former Dortmund player Jude Bellingham can play in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
The 20-year-old sprained his ankle against Girona.
