Sven-Göran Eriksson will make one of his dreams come true.
While the 76-year-old Swedish technician revealed at the beginning of January that he was suffering from pancreatic cancer which would leave him "at best a year to live", he will sit on the bench for the time of a charity match of his dreams: that of Anfield, the Liverpool stadium.
“My dad is still a Liverpool fan and I always have been too,” he told Sky Sports in January.

Klopp opened the club's arms wide to him
Liverpool have announced that Eriksson will be part of the coaching team of the Liverpool legends, who will play a match on March 23 against Ajax Amsterdam, in the legendary Anfield stadium.
“The former England manager will join a group of Reds greats, including Ian Rush, John Barnes and John Aldridge, for the annual LFC Foundation charity match,” the club said.
Among the players that Eriksson will have the pleasure of managing, big names like Jerzy Dudek, Martin Skrtel, Djibril Cisse and Ryan Babel, who will play for both teams during this meeting.
Reds coach Jürgen Klopp himself was very open to welcoming Eriksson for a match of this type: “The only thing I can say is that he is welcome here and that he can sit in my place in my office and do my work for a day if he wants.
There is no problem ".
This will therefore be the case on March 23.
