The game itself - only the second Super Bowl ever to go into overtime - created many storylines and attractions for the viewer.
Patrick Mahomes won his third career Super Bowl MVP, joining Tom Brady and Joe Montana in an exclusive club of three-time winners.
Pop star Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, came to the game and appeared throughout the broadcast.
The singer Asher starred in the halftime show, alongside a number of guests such as Alicia Keys and Ludacris.
In addition, the game provided a fun sports drama, with revolutions and overtime.
The Super Bowl telecast capped off a record NFL season for CBS with the most-watched regular season.
