Niklas Lang is on loan from TSV 1860 Munich to SC Freiburg II.
In the game against Arminia Bielefeld he was shown the red card and missed two games.
Freiburg/Munich – In the SC Freiburg reserve game against Arminia Bielefeld, Niklas Lang was sent off the field with a red card.
The defender, on loan from TSV 1860 Munich, fouled ex-Lion Merveille Biankadi in the 65th minute of the game.
It wasn't an assault or a brutal foul, but was punished by the referee team as an emergency stop.
Lang was the last man in midfield.
His team continued to play with ten men and conceded the score 3-0 with a quarter of an hour to go.
Lang can play eleven more times for SC Freiburg II
The DFB has now announced the extent of the ban.
SC Freiburg II will miss two games for a long time.
He will therefore miss the guest game at FC Ingolstadt against his former coach Michael Köllner and the home game against SV Waldhof Mannheim.
The 21-year-old, who came to Freiburg on loan in January, has been in the starting line-up three times so far.
Apart from the last game, he played the full season.
At TSV 1860 Munich they will keep an eye on their defender.
If Freiburg starts a series while Lang is missing due to suspension, his playing time could dwindle.
There are still eleven league games left in which the central defender can gain experience in the SC Freiburg reserves.
Money for the NLZ of the Sixties thanks to Niklas Lang
Lang, meanwhile, has a contract with the Lions until the summer of 2026. The homegrown player, who has been playing for the Sechzgern for ten years, has appeared 14 times for the Munich club in the 3rd league this season.
He scored his first goal in professional football in the game against 1. FC Saarbrücken last November.
In the 82nd minute of the game, Lang headed the ball into the net to give Sixty a 3-2 win.
Lang played regularly under Köllner in previous seasons.
Thanks to his third division appearances under the age of 21 (and those of his Munich colleagues), TSV 1860 Munich is now once again collecting a handsome sum from the DFB.
The club will receive 648,000 euros from the 3rd league youth funding pot for the 2022/23 season.
