Frans Krätzig made his debut for Austria Vienna on Saturday evening.

The Bayern loan was convincing and played its way straight into the hearts of the fans.

Vienna - FC Bayern suffered a serious setback in the fight for the German championship on Saturday evening (February 10th).

The Munich team had no chance at league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and were badly beaten 3-0.

Almost at the same time as the top Bundesliga game, a Bayern talent was able to celebrate: Frans Krätzig celebrated a dream debut with his new club in Austria.

The 21-year-old top talent only moved to Austria Vienna last week.

Krätzig should gain playing practice with the viola by the summer and take the next step in his development.

The Austrian premiere of the Bayern jewel was certainly promising on Saturday evening.

His performance in the 3-1 home win against TSV Hartberg caused enthusiasm among the Austria fans.

Krätzig, who recently responded to another ex-Bayern talent, was in the starting line-up just four days after his move.

The youngster played on the left wing and impressed with his technique and strong dribbling.

With his assist to make it 1-1, he initiated his team's comeback.

“It took me ten minutes, but then it worked well,” said the Bayern loanee with satisfaction.

“It was okay for the first game, really not bad.

You can build on that.”

His coach Michael Wimmer, who knows Krätzig from their time together at 1. FC Nürnberg, was enthusiastic about his new addition.

“Players with a good understanding of the game, real kickers, they find their way around quickly,” explained the coach.

“He is extremely confident on the ball, we can find solutions with him in the build-up game, you can play him under pressure, he is resistant to pressure.

A really good footballer,” Wimmer enthused.

Standing ovation for Krätzig: Austria fans thrilled – “A completely different level”

With his strong debut, Krätzig also played his way into the hearts of the Austria fans.

When he was substituted in the 77th minute, the youngster received a standing ovation from the spectators in Vienna's Generali Arena.

The 21-year-old was also showered with praising comments on social media.

Another Viola fan added: “His eye for space, his understanding of the game, his technique – everything is simply TOP.” In addition, Krätzig has already been certified by many an Austria supporter as having the “potential to become a five-month cult footballer in purple”.

Those in charge at FC Bayern should also be pleased with the strong debut.

Krätzig's contract with the German record champions runs until 2027. The talent is scheduled to return to Säbener Straße in the summer.

The same applies to Bayern loanee Josip Stanisic, who scored the 1-0 goal for Leverkusen in the top game against his parent club.
