Hans Sitzberger is no longer vice president of TSV 1860 Munich.

He announced his resignation in a long Facebook statement.

Munich – Political bang at TSV 1860!

Vice President Hans Sitzberger announced his resignation in a long message on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.

The 71-year-old, who was at the traditional wallet washing on Marienplatz that morning, is turning his back on the lions with immediate effect.

This will prevent him from being voted out at a planned extraordinary general meeting.

“On January 26, 2024, the board of directors recommended my deselection as vice president via the TSV 1860 Munich club website,” writes Sitzberger.

Since then he has received a lot of encouragement not to let himself get down.

Nevertheless, he decided to “declare my immediate resignation to the Board of Directors today in accordance with the statutes.”

It is the ultimate culmination of a dispute that has been simmering since the end of January.

The board of directors accused the loyal fan and sponsor of publishing “confidential content”, urged him to resign (in vain) and officially withdrew their trust from him (we reported).

Even back then, Sitzberger reacted via Facebook, denying everything: “At no time did I disclose internal information (...) to the public, neither to the press nor to the co-partner, to anyone.” The deputy was aggressive: “The accusations are “Plucked out of thin air.” He feels like a “pawn.”

Now he follows up.

“Since the association is spared an extraordinary general meeting due to my resignation today, it is important to me that the speculation comes to an end and that, in particular, every member can form their own opinion based on facts,” writes Sitzberger.

Sitzberger: “At no time will confidential correspondence be passed on to outside third parties”

The now ex-Vice President goes through the allegations against him point by point.

He again denied what was probably the most serious – the publication of “confidential content”.

“I can only repeat myself here: I have never passed on confidential correspondence to outside third parties,” writes Sitzberger.

“To date, the board of directors has not presented any evidence to support this accusation of alleged indiscretion.” “So why resign?” asks Sitzberger himself. He has now realized that the board of directors “want me to resign from office at all costs – literally any price.”

Sitzberger is now making allegations against the board of directors.

It was brought to his attention several times that the board of directors was apparently trying to “discredit me in another way by questioning my mental fitness, calling me confused and not shying away from doing this in communication with (external) third parties to express".

Hans Sitzberger “acknowledges defeat”

The only option for Sitzberger was to resign.

“I can assess myself and my abilities well and I know which battles I can win,” writes the entrepreneur: “But I also know when I have to admit defeat and when my counterpart raises weapons that I am ashamed to use I would have to admit defeat.” President Robert Reisinger and second vice-president Hans Schmidt now remain on the executive board of the eV.
