“I know what I don’t want,” said Fortuna coach Daniel Thioune about his favorite opponent in the cup semi-finals.
The Düsseldorf coach would like to avoid a duel with Bayer Leverkusen as much as possible.

DFB Cup semi-final draw live: Only one win left until the final
First report from February 10th, 5:45 p.m.:
Mainz – The 2023/24 season still lasts more than three months, but four teams are not far away from the DFB Cup final in Berlin.
The semi-finals are just around the corner.
The quarter-final games offered plenty of excitement and surprises.
Now the draw for the matches in the round of the last four will take place on Saturday evening (11 p.m., live in ZDF's “current sports studio” and in the stream in the ZDF media library).
DFB Cup draw in the live ticker: Who will duel in the semi-finals?
Four teams are still in the draw and are aiming for the DFB Cup.
And the semi-finals promise exciting constellations even before the draw.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen, who narrowly defeated VfB Stuttgart 3-2 in a top-class quarter-final, are the big favorites.
There are also two second division teams in the semi-finals: Fortuna Düsseldorf (6:5 on penalties against FC St. Pauli) and 1. FC Kaiserslautern (3:1 against Hertha BSC).
There is also a double ticket in the draw, which includes 1. FC Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The double draw is due to the weather in Saarbrücken last Wednesday (February 7th).
The FCS and Borussia should have determined the fourth semi-finalist that evening.
But the DFB Cup quarter-final between the two teams was canceled due to heavy rain.
The DFB has now set the rescheduled date for the game to March 12th.
Although a team in the field has not yet been determined, the semifinals will be drawn on Saturday evening.
But one thing is already certain: If Saarbrücken prevails, the frightening favorites will also enjoy home rights in the semi-finals as a third division team.
The DFB Cup final will take place in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on May 25th.
