After just a few weeks, coach Dimitrios Grammozis had to leave at 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
The success in the DFB Cup didn't help the coach either.
Kaiserslautern - 1. FC Kaiserslautern has parted ways with coach Dimitrios Grammozis.
The second division football team confirmed this in the morning.
The reason for the expulsion is the disappointing results of the table 16th.
in the league.
Under Grammozis, who only took office at the beginning of December as Dirk Schuster's successor, the Lauterers lost five of six second division games.
Even reaching the semi-finals of the DFB Cup did not save the coach from a quick exit at Betzenberg.
With only 21 points, the FCK is level on points with second-to-last Hansa Rostock in the second division and has to fear falling into the third division.
After the recent 2-1 home defeat against SC Paderborn, fans had already called for Grammozis to be separated.
Managing director Thomas Hengen avoided making a commitment to the coach immediately after the game.
“The trainer is the poorest pig, he had little standing here right from the start, for whatever reason.
But you have to deliver results, I know that, the coach, the team,” Hengen said.
Grammozis' successor is scheduled to lead training on Wednesday afternoon.
The club did not initially announce who would take over the position.
Assistant coach Sven Piepenbrock was also released, it was said.
