FC Bayern has to endure a lot of criticism after the defeat in the summit meeting with Bayer Leverkusen.
Felix Magath takes Thomas Tuchel to task.
Munich – After the defeat in the summit meeting with Bayer Leverkusen, criticism is pouring in on FC Bayern and coach Thomas Tuchel.
The interim conclusion is that they are out of the DFB Cup at third division team Saarbrücken and five points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.
There was a lot of criticism for the club and its coach from ex-Bayern coach Felix Magath.
Magath on Tuchel: Football cannot be viewed like a game of chess
FC Bayern's 3-0 defeat in Leverkusen last weekend continues to have an impact.
In an interview with
Sky
, Felix Magath, who won the double twice with Munich, had clear words for his former club.
At the center of this was Thomas Tuchel, who had already received a lot of criticism for his tactical change in the top game.
“From my experience I can say that football cannot be viewed like a game of chess.
I think this tendency is wrong.
I don’t think you can win a game just with theory on the tactics board,” said Magath when asked about Tuchel’s changes before the game in the BayArena.
For him, it is still the players who have to be guided by the coach in order to make the right decisions.
“But if there is no hierarchy in the team, you don’t have to be surprised if things don’t go smoothly,” added the 70-year-old.

Magath criticizes Tuchel's Bayern's lack of dominance
What also makes the record champions' former coach negative is the lack of dominance in the games.
“So far, Thomas Tuchel has not been able to get the team to dominate and control a game,” was the verdict on his coaching colleague.
He also criticized Bayern's lack of sovereignty in the Bundesliga.
While he doesn't have high hopes for FC Bayern on the national stage, things are completely different in the Champions League.
“I think Bayern are more likely to win the Champions League than win the championship,” was Magath’s conclusion, who emphasized that Bayern had managed to perform confidently in the Champions League so far.

Magath: Top teams need to be moderated rather than trained
When asked whether FC Bayern would need a moderator like Jupp Heynckes or Hansi Flick, Magath made it clear: “If world-class players are forced into a tactical corset by a coach, it can be difficult.
Top teams like FC Bayern have to be moderated rather than trained.” During his time in Munich, he didn’t tell the star players how they should play.
Magath did not want to judge whether it would be difficult for Tuchel in a defeat against Lazio Rome.
Still, he noted that “for some reason it wouldn’t fit together.”
According to him, the consequence in the business is that they are parting ways with the coach, but for him everything would be more speculation.
